Nelson Literary Agency, LLC.
This Denver-based literary agency needed a site that reflected its investment in the future of publishing. Each client has a page touting their works, along with the story of how they came to the agency — sparking inspiration for future clients. The agents’ “Webinars” — innovative web-based writer bootcamps — were also given their much-deserved prominence.

Problem: Our corporate website was years old. It was dated, didn’t integrate social media, and most of all, didn’t throw a spotlight on our authors and their books. The whole point of a website is to allow visitors to discover our wonderful clients and encourage them to explore and to buy our clients’ books. Although we have our own software engineer, Lori didn’t have the time to run our digital platform and helm an intensive project like a full website redesign. Yet, we needed a person with real technical expertise. Our engineer didn’t want to baby-sit a graphic designer who had very little else to offer beyond the “look” of the site. We needed a beautiful, flexible, and technically extensible Website with user friendly administrator tools.
Solution: Todd. Plain and simple. One phone conference between Lori and Todd immediately made it apparent that Todd spoke tech. He knew his stuff. He could offer terrific design input AND had the tech creds to manipulate a WordPress site to our specs. He was a godsend! All other developers wanted to charge tons extra to “optimize” our site on search engines, something we did not need. Todd focused on what we needed most and delivered. We were so pleased with his work that we are hiring him to revamp our eNewsletter next.

It was a pleasure to work with Todd Jackson, who put together a smart, sophisticated and gorgeous website we love in an amazingly short amount of time. We’d highly recommend him to everyone!

Todd Jackson took my vague ideas and turned them into a crystal-clear reality. His attention to detail is matched only by his eye for innovation and technical know-how. When it comes to the design and development of my site, Todd is not merely a souce of information or workaday practitioner, but essentially a trusted and reliable creative partner.
Problem: My site was oh so yesterday in relationship to design and sharing capability! It was designed completely in flash so I had limited flexibility and it didn’t reflect nor reinforce my ‘get rid’ time, money, energy and sanity saving positioning which speaks to simplifying our lives as it relates to our day to day domestic engineers. And, as social media has grown, I wanted to share my ‘wit ‘n wisdom’ i.e. content across all social networks.
Solution: Todd is a master…some people/web design firms are good at design or understanding the need to make a site ‘social media friendly’—todd was both and patient to boot! He worked closely with me to understand my brand personality and brand goals. The end result is he designed a site that clearly compliments my humorous, playful side, kept it clean to reinforce my brand messaging and developed an easily updatable content driven format. And, last but far from least made anything that I can share shareable. I’m thrilled to ‘spread the glove’ about him!
To promote her forthcoming memoir that tells her life story through the jewelry she did (or did not) receive, Beth needed a site that could match the beautiful charms on the cover and keep visitors up on the many events surrounding her book. Working with designer VIviane Tubiana, I created a site that unifies much of her previous online efforts including her jewelry design and consulting business.

Todd immediately made me feel at ease about my limited technological ability and vocabulary and he has a true talent—he had the ability to listen, hear and work out all the nuances of building the exact website I envisioned. Then he made it workable not only for visitors to navigate but for me to use! I was also truly impressed by how he was able to capture my entire brand. There were many components I wanted to include and he got it all in while making it understandable and interesting. I have already referred many friends and colleagues to him!

I was having difficulty conceiving of any sort of design for my site. Todd came up with a brilliant concept drawn from the cover of my book and then he executed it brilliantly. No mid-course corrections were required. He got what I needed better than I got it myself.

ShopGopher.com needed a completely new website with a higher level of functionality that other designers just couldn’t visualize. Todd Jackson really took the time to understand our business and offered solutions that we didn’t even know existed. With very little input from us he created the right website on the first try - a website that actually grows with our business.
Drive Like A Woman
Michele Shapiro hired me to rebuild her inspiring site Drive Like A Woman as the web magazine she had envisioned. The results merge both the automotive and the fashionable, demonstrating that the site’s name is anything but an insult.

“I had a bad experience with my first designer who gave me an amateurish design and technology that didn’t work. I was nervous about working with another designer, but Todd immediately put me at ease. He explained everything each step of the way. I’m not well versed in online technology, and he made sure I understood everything throughout the whole process. He went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the site. In the end, he provided me with an innovative design and solid professional back end technology. I’ll admit that I’m a perfectionist and had grand ideas of what my site would be, and Todd managed to exceed my expectations—not an easy task. I would highly recommend him to everyone I know.”
New Canaan Mounted Troop
The site’s mission is to help drive awareness and donations for New Canaan Mounted Troop, a 501c3 not-for profit. I made it easy to find and fall in love with one of the non-profit’s eighteen horses. And then, with just a little more effort, adopt one. Each horse has a customized profile with photo gallery.

Todd did an outstanding job articulating our vision and his design work conveyed the spirit of the organization really well. The site allows for a variety of content but at the same time is simple, fun and easy to navigate. He was also very helpful with regard to providing recommendations for best practices and functionality to meet our business goals.

To promote his new nonfiction book, The Lost Spy, Andrew Meier needed a site that featured the atmosphere of the world of international espionage but also showcased his solid detective work that revealed the story of Isaiah Oggins, one of the first Americans to ever spy for the Soviet Union.

Todd is a master. He crafted the site for THE LOST SPY with creativity, enthusiasm and ultimate flexibility. He understands writers—and the book world—unlike any Web designer I’ve met.

In the wake of writing her first book, The Smart Cookies’ Guide to Making More Dough, Jennifer Barrett needed a site to cement herself as an expert in personal finance, but in a fun, personable way that represented her belief that anyone can take charge of their money matters.

Todd is a true professional. It was a pleasure to work with him on my website. He’s honest, reliable, and charges a very reasonable price for his services. He’s also got a great eye for what works—and what doesn’t—on a site. And he’s willing to spend a lot of time and effort to make sure you get it just right. I was very pleased with the final product.
Journalist / Book Author
I revamped this sketch comedy team’s web presence so that their popular videos were more prominently featured, in addition to moving and redesigning their previously off-site Blogger blog and establishing an RSS feed for their live shows.
“Todd quickly and efficiently built the Elephant Larry website. He’s reliable, helpful, and knowledgeable, and I highly recommend him!”

Spectrum Publications needed a more flexible and manageable web presence for its magazine dedicated to activism and care for people with autistic disorders. I transferred entire site database from Joomla to ExpressionEngine, redesigned the site from a one-size-fit-all template to a customized look and fixed the workflow so editors would have to update once to have changes appear everywhere.
- FoxEE & FoxyCart
Our readers are raving about the new setup. The site is so much cleaner and easier to navigate than it was previously. The system Todd implemented lets us to update the site more frequently, allowing the people at our company with even the least of web skills to make additions. In all, it’s a faster, more efficient and sleek design that’s exactly what we wanted.
Shoot the Messenger
Another creation by The Daily Show‘s Lizz Winstead, “Shoot the Messenger” goes behind the scenes of “Wake Up World,” America’s worst morning show. The web home for the show was built entirely in Expression Engine for frequent updates and cross-linking of content.
I redesigned Samuel Johnson Prize-winning author Tom Reiss’s site for his critically-acclaimed biography The Orientalist. The new site makes it easier for visitors to get involved in the life of Lev Nussimbaum, the subject of The Orientalist. I also created for Tom Reiss a DVD featuring his press appearances to help sell his next non-fiction book.
Humor writer Mike Sacks needed a web home to feature his work from magazines such as Esquire, Salon, Vanity Fair, McSweeneys and The New Yorker. Mike’s work is displayed cleanly with small touches of graphic whimsy. I also built the site for his upcoming book, And Here’s the Kicker, featuring interviews with more than 20 humor writers.
